Звуковая инсталляция Labor Manualis была выполнена по заказу ГМИИ им. А.С. Пушкина в рамках выставки "Рафаэль. Поэзия образа" в 2016 году

Внимание в звуковой инсталляции Labor Manualis сфокусировано на процессе создания картин. Мы попытались реконструировать повседневную, ремесленную составляющую работы мастерской художника и воссоздать ее звуковой образ. Это концентрация на необходимых действиях, которые всегда остаются по ту сторону холста, но видятся нам не менее поэтичными, чем само полотно. Мы старались избегать декорирования и украшательства, оставив лишь чистый и скупой звук самих движений: подготовка поверхности, изготовление красок, смешивание их элементов, подбор инструментов, перенос рисунка на деревянную основу. Нас поразило, что последовательность звуков, сопровождающих эти действия, имеет собственную структуру и логику, рождает композицию, которую можно уловить, даже когда природа отдельных звуков остается неясной. Воссоздание фактически сокрального процесса создания шедевра становится осязаемым и превращается в гимн простому ручному труду. Наша работа – это попытка создать параллельное, но прямо соотносящееся с работами Рафаэля измерение. Это жест не противоречия, но и не дополнения, а скорее – воплощение другой, генетически связанной с картинами реальности, более обыденной и бытовой, но не менее важной.

The sound installation Labor Manualis was commissioned by The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts in the framework of the exhibition "Raphael. Image Poetry" in 2016

Attention in sound installation Labor Manualis focused on the process of creating paintings. We tried to reconstruct the everyday, craft component of the work of the artist and to recreate its sound image. We find these essential actions - that one always remains on the other side of the canvas - no less poetic than the painting itself. We tried to avoid the decorating and decorations, leaving only clean and miser sound of the movements themselves: surface preparation, paint manufacture, mixing elements, selection tools, image transfer on a wooden base. We were amazed that the sequence of sounds accompanying these actions has its own structure and logic, produces a composition that can be caught, even when the nature of individual sounds is unclear. In fact, the reconstruction of the sacred process of creating a masterpiece becomes tangible and is transformed into a hymn to simple manual labor. Our work is an attempt to create a parallel but directly correlated to the works of Raphael dimension. This gesture is not a contradiction and not a supplement but rather a manifestation of another reality, which is genetically related to picture but is more mundane and domestic and no less important.
